About Me

Hello! My name is James.

I would be honored to witness you and attune to your specific needs. I work with an anti-oppressive lens and it is my goal to be present with your intersectional identities and cultural influences. I actively work to redistribute the privileges provided by my whiteness. Via the hardships of a below the poverty line generational lineage, I have learned to withstand heightened pressures and stress. I am 38 years old, and identify as non-binary and bisexual. I am neurodivergent, a lived experience that comes from my genetic disposition as well as my upbringing.

I am happy to work with people on many spectrums, from different work and life fields, those seeking clarity and more resilience, or simply comfort when in a tough situation. I hope to meet you wherever you are in your process and identity, I am committed to my role as your confidant and heart-centered healer.

I have experience with serving people in many different care scenarios. I have completed a 33-hr. Paraprofessional Intimate Partner Violence & Anti-Oppression training with Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Non-Violence. I have worked with couples in IPV via first responder support and court advocacy as well as couples seeking reproductive support. Additionally, I have supported at-risk teens who have endured justice system trauma and/or houseless-ness. I have served on harm reduction staff for many celebratory, music centered gatherings. Lastly, I worked as a preschool teacher for four years and have studied Childhood & Adult Development extensively.

I have a MA in Family & Couple Therapy form Antioch University. My Bachelor’s degree is in Humanistic & Transpersonal Psychololgy from Naropa University, with a minor in Contemplative Education. Prior to centering mental and emotional health as my profession, I worked as an artist and curator. I received a Masters of Fine Arts in Visual Studies from Pacific Northwest College of Art. My art practice help inspire my therapeutic work through the creativity and innovation found there.

With this in body-heart-mind, I look forward to the opportunity of meeting with you.
